割り (wa·ri) is about appreciating duality. Through form and materials, it celebrates the beauty created by juxtaposing two contrasting elements.

This duality first occurs in the shape that wa·ri takes on. The seat and front legs are two independent pieces built using different manufacturing techniques. When combined, they take on an ergonomically supportive form, perfect for the human body.

The second is through materials. The front legs are bent out of sheet aluminum. The seat/rear leg(s) is CNC’ed wood. One feels cold to the touch while the other is neutral. One is visually warm while the other is cool. When the two come together, they complement each other using their natural properties.
